"Purple Rain" - 25th Anniversary: "When Doves Cry"

It's been 25 years since the epic album "Purple Rain" by Prince & The Revolution was released. To celebrate, throughout the year, I'll be posting various tidbits and media from around the web dealing with this project, as I will for "Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814", which turns 20 this year.
Here's a video of one of the singles from "Purple Rain": "When Doves Cry". This song in particular was one that changed the sound of popular music, with the sound of the again-ubiquitous Linn Drum and its lack of a bass line.
